The Mac Med Musical is proud to announce this year’s production of How to Train a Doctor, an original show written and performed by first-year McMaster Medical students!

About the show:
Eager to make a difference, Alex, a first year medical student, joins a groundbreaking research team working to revolutionize the field of medical robotics. However, taking part in the research forces Alex to re-examine her identity and her expected future in medicine. Meanwhile, the research project begins to take on a life of its own, as the lines between humanity and artificial intelligence become increasingly blurred.

Shows are at 7 pm on Friday, May 25th and Saturday, May 26th at the Lincoln Alexander Theatre.

Students/Youth: $15
Adults: $20

Who do we Support?

McMaster Children’s Hospital is the regional referral centre for children who require specialized services in south-central Ontario, and is the fourth largest provider of inpatient pediatric services in Canada. We provide a full range of specialized pediatric services including a dedicated emergency department, 40 outpatient clinics, the province’s largest neonatal intensive care unit and the only pediatric trauma centre in the region. In addition, a range of specialized outpatient services operate out of our new Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre, including autism, developmental pediatrics and rehabilitation, mental health and prosthetics and orthotics.

Community support is essential to McMaster Children’s Hospital. While the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has been extremely supportive of our recent redevelopment projects, they do not provide any funds for the equipment needs of the Hospital. Therefore, we must rely on community generosity to ensure that our doctors and nurses possess the necessary tools in order to optimally care for the approximately 150,000 children from this region that require our services each year.

Events like the annual Mac Med Musical help us achieve those goals, so we thank you greatly for your support!

The Mac Med Musical is an annual production conceived by students at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University, with the purpose of raising money for the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation. The musical promotes creativity and collaboration amongst those involved, with the final product being a spectacular original performance!

Mac Med Musical is a non-profit interest group, with all proceeds from the show to be donated to the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is a registered charity that supports quality pediatric care in Hamilton and south-central Ontario.
